FRESH - New thinking about what were eating

Last night I went to a film screening followed by a panel discussion at the French Institute Alliance. FRESH the movie inspires Americans to consider what we are putting into our mouths, and to really think about where the food came from and who grew it. Michael Pollan, interviewed throughout the film, explains America's food crisis. He clarifies that it is a social justice movement as much as anything else, because everyone should have access to wholesome food. Will Allen, urban farmer and the recipient of MacArthur's 2008 Genius Award, educates inner city populations on how to grow fresh produce and why it is nutritious. Allen said, "Food is at the foundation, but this is really about life."
